Family Date to see Shaun the Sheep Movie on August 5th with GIVEAWAY

The end of summer is approaching and I am trying to gobble up every last bit of fun we can muster up as a family. School starts next week, which means I have a limited number of days to jam pack full of fun. Even less when you consider that the kids go to their dad’s house this weekend. I at least have tomorrow planned with a family date to see the Shaun the Sheep Movie.

All summer, we have been watching previews and anticipating the release of the British stop-motion animated comedy, Shaun the Sheep Movie. Hitting theaters everywhere tomorrow, August 5th, Shaun the Sheep is geared toward kids ages 4-10, but really looks like a film to be enjoyed by the entire family. According to Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB, the ratings are high, and say this movie is a great way to introduce kids to silent film.

The Synopsis:
“When Shaun decides to take the day off and have some fun, he gets a little more action than he bargained for. A mix up with the Farmer, a caravan, and a very steep hill lead them all to the Big City and it’s up to Shaun and the flock to return everyone safely to the green grass of home.”

My kids have always been intrigued by claymation, but I have mostly been drawn to the adorable characters in Shaun the Sheep Movie. You can meet each of the main characters via shorts on Youtube, but I was drawn to Timmy, the youngest member of the flock. I can relate to mischievous little young’ens.

The film boasts teamwork, leadership, and problem solving as educational aspects for children, which my kids can definitely take cue from, especially at the end of a summer together!

    My almost 5 year old LOVES Shaun the Sheep! We didn’t even know there was a full-length movie coming out! He would love to go see this!

    I saw Shaun the Sheep last Saturday at the Traverse City Film Fest! It was a great movie, and our little festival was thrilled to have its premier!!! But, my husband didn’t get to see it, so I will bring him with me to see it.

    I just took my son and three of his friends to see the movie for his 12th birthday. I enjoyed it just as much as they did!
