School is upon us in less than two weeks! For me it feels like I only have a day or two left to get ready for the school year, because then week is filled with soccer camp and the start of ballet and gymnastics, for all of my kids. Then before we know it, everyone begins soccer practice and games, and school is in full swing. Where has the time gone? To prepare, I am thinking about back-to-school lunches and how I can improve them this year.
On my most recent Walmart shopping trip, I decided to do something a little different and pick up Wet Ones® Singles, which I have never even considered putting in my kids’ lunches. I know my kiddos, and they are not the best at washing up before or after meals. If I stick a Wet Ones® Singles in their lunchbox, then it’s a no-brainer. It won’t take any thought and the kids won’t have to make a trip to the school bathroom, to wash up. We all know they likely won’t do that anyway! If you think about it, the kids have already had at least one recess when lunch rolls around, and they’ve been using pencils and glue, and what have you. So those hands are likely to be dirty.
While shopping I also stocked up on Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish Crackers, which is one of my kids’ FAVORITE snacks or sides. My oldest especially loves the Goldfish Flavour Blasted® Xtreme Cheddar, as well as the Xtra Cheddar. Anyway to get more cheese into his crackers and he’s a happy camper. The only dilemma I have with Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish Crackers is getting them to last. The kids love snacking on these after school, and I have to frequently ask them to not gobble them all up, so they will have them for lunches. Anyone else have this problem?
I have some stories come up that will discuss the remaining items I plan to stick in my kids’ lunchboxes. However, I’m still on the hunt for the perfect water bottles for the lunchboxes, but I figure I’m on my way to tackling this back-to-school lunch dilemma I seem to face every year. I’m not a big fan of juice boxes for lunch every day, because I know the kids don’t need the sugar, so I’m still trying to work that one out. A good water bottle that won’t spill, and doesn’t take up too much space in the backpack, or lunchbox.
