I love November! I love the feeling of gratitude that is in the air. From seeing the daily gratitude posts of friends on Facebook, to people just being in a happier, friendlier mood, there is something special about this time of year. This year, I decided that I am going to show my gratitude for those who mean so much to me by finding small ways to do something kind to make them happy. I am partnering with Jimmy Dean to start a month of gratitude by “shining it forward.”
Because today was a very rainy Monday morning (which I am grateful for here in drought-stricken California), my little girl and I spent the morning indoors. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to start our month of “shining it forward”. I pulled out some markers and cute note cards and we wrote letters to my grandparents (her great grandparents) telling them how much we love and appreciate them.
All of my grandparents live far away, and I know that getting these simple little notes in the mail are going to just brighten their days so much. Thinking of them opening them and seeing the cute little drawings from my daughter really brightened my rainy Monday! Isn’t it amazing how when we do something for others we seem to be the ones who benefit the most.
My friends at Jimmy Dean believe this also, which is why they are encouraging people to make their Monday mornings matter by taking time to do something nice for others.
To join their #MondaysForGood movement all you need to do is “Shine it Forward” by doing a small acts of kindness for someone else. This could be volunteering, buying coffee for a co-worker, or holding the door open for a stranger. Anything, no matter how large or small, can create a positive chain reaction and turn the world into a brighter place. Be sure to share your “shine it forward” moment via social media to help spread the movement and to make helping others the latest trend. To share simply tweet @JimmyDean using #MondaysForGood or post on Facebook/Instagram and share what good you did!
So be sure to “shine it forward” and turn Monday’s into the happiest day of the week. And don’t forget that good mornings lead to great days so start the day with a great breakfast, like a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich, and let breakfast have a positive impact on your day. Because, when you’re feeling good, you’re likely to “do some good.” For more information on the “shine it forward” movement check out the Jimmy Dean Website today.
