There are so many things I need to be doing to meet the healthy goals I have set for myself. I get easily get overwhelmed if I try to tackle them all at once, so I work on baby steps. I’ve never been one to eat breakfast on a daily basis, yet I know how important breakfast is, to get the metabolism going for the day. This is one change I have been working on, with the help of delicious recipes such as my Mango Tango Smoothie.
Going from no breakfast to a huge breakfast with eggs, pancakes, bacon and a glass of juice, just isn’t going to work for me. It’s just too much. My easy fix is to whip up a smoothie, or protein drink, to get my day started. Keith has been working on this with me, as sometimes his breakfasts are a bit too much. A morning smoothie is light enough to not weigh me down, but enough to get my metabolism and my energy going.
One of my go-to smoothie aids are the Odwalla Smoothies. These are delicious on their own, and great for a grab-n-go type of breakfast or snack, but they also make for great homemade smoothies.
Coca-Cola is making it easier to incorporate healthy choices with Simply Orange Juice (hubby’s favorite OJ), and Fairlife Milk. Fairlife Milk boasts 50% more protein and 30% more calcium than ordinary milk. We love the Fairlife Chocolate milk too. Just beware of the additional sugar.
To help with my #SmartStart2016 healthy eating goals, I’m picking up some necessities at Safeway, and luckily the Odwalla Smoothies are on sale this week! As part of our Start Smart. Stay Active. Keep Fit. goals, next up we will be tackling ways to get more movement throughout the day. You too can participate! Save your receipt! By purchasing fairlife milk, Simply Orange, or Odwalla products at your local Albertsons or Safeway stores by March 24, 2016, you can enter for a chance to win 1 of 1000 Misfit Shine Fitness + Sleep Monitors.
