It’s almost time for back to school. I know that once school is in full swing, our lives our going to get busy and hectic really fast. I am trying to get myself organized now, in hopes that when school starts back up, I have everything in place for a smooth transition into our normal routine.

Easy After School Snacks Kids Can Make Themselves

One way I am getting ready for school is by getting my kitchen ready with easy after school snacks the kids can make for themselves. My kids always seem to be starving by 3 o’clock, so I like to have some snacks available that are healthy, enough to hold them over till dinner, and easy enough that the kids can put them together themselves. I made a list of all of these ideas and stuck it on the inside of my food pantry, so the kids could check it out and get snack inspiration. Here are the ideas that I posted for my kids.

After School Snacks:

* Apple + cheese cubes

* Pretzels and peanut butter

* Celery + hummus

* Hardboiled egg on English muffin

* Trail mix (raisins, nuts, chocolate chips)

* Air popped popcorn

* Salsa and tortilla chips

* English muffin pizzas (a favorite in my house)

* Fruit salad

With each snack idea, I am encouraging the kiddos to add a glass of ice cold a2 Milk®. I choose a2 Milk® because it is real milk, packed with 6x the amount of calcium as soy beverages, approximately 8x the protein of almond beverages and approximately 6x the potassium levels of rice beverages. However, it does not leave you with any of the tummy troubles or post-dairy digestive discomfort that sometimes accompany drinking milk. a2 Milk® doesn’t cause these issues because this milk does not contain the A1 protein, the culprit behind many people’s discomfort after consuming dairy, which is currently in all conventional & organic milks on the U.S. market.

What makes a2 Milk® different is that it only comes from specially selected a2 cows, whose milk is naturally free of the A1 protein. So by having on hand, I can make side that my kids have a healthy drink to go along with their after school snacks, that won’t cause them any tummy issues later.

    Well I don’t have kids and I don’t go to school but some of these snacks are my favorite too! My Summer current favorite is cheese cubes on crackers with a slice of apple. YUM!
