I’m not one to usually call out a hotel or location as being THE BEST in the area, or of it’s kind, but with limited on-site hotels at Universal Studios Hollywood, I’ve found the best. There are really only a couple of hotels to choose from if you want to be within walking distance to Universal Studios and CityWalk, and I’ve stayed at them both. The nice thing is shuttles are provided if you don’t want to walk, but it really is a lovely walk. So, the best Universal Studios hotel I’ve found in Hollywood is Hilton Universal City.
Allow me to elaborate…
During our Fall break, I took our family of 6 to Universal Studios to check out the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I’ll talk more about that soon, but I was worrying about hotel accommodations because traveling with our size of family isn’t always easy. I’ve got to say I LOVED our stay at Hilton Universal City. The rooms were lush and beautiful, on top of being spacious.
We had two adjoining rooms, which has become one of my favorite ways to travel with the kids. Keith and I were in a very large corner king room, complete with sofa and living room area, while the kids were adjoined in a two-queen bed room. Having our private space is wonderful, but I don’t like to leave the kids isolated in their own room so the adjoining aspect is perfect. Plus, we give strict instructions for the kids not to leave the room, and we do sleep with the doors between us open.
I’m a very picky sleeper because most beds are too firm, as are the pillows. I slept like a baby at the Hilton! We were also greeted with a fruit plate, which is also a nice gesture when I work with a hotel. I decided to get cozy and take advantage of the in-room robes while watching a movie and nibbling on the fruit.
We arrived late, after a full day of driving so we opted to test out room service. They were fairly speedy and the food was delish – plus way more than we could eat!
The family had a very restful sleep and stay, and having two bathrooms made getting ready in the morning a breeze. Not to mention how pretty and spacious the bathrooms were. As it was time to check out, it was perfect to be able to leave our car beneath the hotel, check out, and enjoy a full day at the park. We even took advantage of a quick breakfast on-the-go from the hotel’s coffee shop. It was perfect! I can’t recommend the Hilton Universal City location enough if you’re looking to stay within walking distance to Universal Studios.
