Picking the perfect hotel is one of the most difficult parts of travel planning, in my opinion. I always want my hotel to be nice, comfortable, affordable and in the perfect location. If I can at least get three out of four of my criteria then I’m happy as a clam. When planning my first trip to Charleston, I did a lot of research on hotels and we really scored big with our choice. I’d like to share some of my top reasons to choose The Vendue Hotel in Charleston.
Location, location, location! The Vendue Hotel is within walking distance of most of the attractions I mentioned in my article titled “The 8 Best Things To Do in Charleston“. The walking tours begin within walking distance of the hotel and you aren’t far from the water here either!
Luxury – There’s just something about walking into a luxurious hotel room that you get to call home during your travels. I literally gasped when I walked into our room at The Vendue, and from the amenities to the comfort of the bed, everything was luxurious. I’m all about a comfortable bed and pillow and this hotel checked off both of those boxes! They also provide robes and slippers for added comfort.
Turndown service – Not nearly enough hotels offer turndown service so it feels extra special when a hotel does provide it. I love coming back to my room in the evening and being able to climb right into bed, with a chocolate on my pillow. I feel so fancy!
Some of the best views in the city – From the rooftop bar, The Vendue offers some of the best views in the city! Our walking tour guide even suggested our hotel as a great bar to go to after the tour, for yummy eats and drinks, as well as the views. The hotel also boasts a variety of art pieces throughout the hotel, so everywhere you go, you have beauty to behold.
Valet parking – most of the hotels in Charleston don’t offer free parking, and don’t even have an on-site parking garage/lot, so valet parking is super nice. Parking garages could be blocks away so valet is definitely the way to go. We only kept a car for one night and walked the remainder of our trip and it worked out great.
On-site restaurants and dining – Between the Rooftop Bar and The Revival (on the main floor), you have great dining options at The Vendue Hotel. Service was excellent and The Revival is undergoing a remodel, due to reopen in April!
Amenities – Among the complimentary amenities are:
- Champagne upon arrival
- Artisanal continental breakfast
- Bicycles for exploring
- Art and wine reception
- Cookies and milk in the evening
- Wireless Internet
The Vendue Hotel is truly a beautiful hotel with boutique rooms, and you’ll feel right at home. The staff is all extremely friendly and helpful and you’ll never want to leave!
