Having a beloved family pet changes everyone and their habits. In addition to learning to care for and love an animal, kids also learn responsibility by having to feed them but also to clean up after them. Some people avoid getting pets because of the fear of the mess they will create, so I have some quick cleanup tips for when you have a pet.
We should focus on the joy our pets bring us, instead of the messes. When you have convenient cleaning products like the entire line, cleaning can actually be kind of fun, and always a breeze. We recently took on caring for my mom’s dog while they’re away for the next year so that’s upped our dog game to 2 in the house! Luckily our dogs are sisters and they absolutely love each other and get along so well. On the flip side that means the two dogs also get into mischief together. The messes have definitely increased with two dogs, but Swiffer products are so easy to use, I get the kids to help! That’s even more time I get to spend cuddling the pups!
Quick Cleanup Tips
For our pet messes my go-to products are first, Sweeper Dry and Wet Pet Refills with Febreze Odor Defense, which you can pick up at Kroger! When Lucy and Chloe are left to their own devices for a few hours they often find themselves digging in the soft winter dirt. Then they track said dirt in through the doggy door and all over my kitchen floor. Our dogs are often up on the furniture with us too, so we tackle the floor and their paws. Swiffer Sweeper Dry and Wet Pet Refills with Febreze Odor Defense are the best for cleaning our hard floors, and mopping up muddy paw prints. They tackle the mess and the smell of wet muddy dog, all at once!
The next quick cleanup tip is to have Swiffer Dusters Heavy Duty Pet Refills on hand and possibly even in a few locations throughout the house. These bad boys can pick up some serious dust, dirt, debris and fur! My dogs don’t shed a lot, but Lucy’s hair manages to show up in the strangest places. The Swiffer Duster Heavy Duty Pet Refills are fantastic for freeing my nightstands and all surfaces and ledges from dust and tiny black dog hairs. I’m always amazed at how much the dusters pick up.
Try to take the frustration out of the pet messes and arm yourself with quick and easy-to-use products. Get everyone in the house to do share in the quick cleanup and everyone will be to loving on doggies in no time!
