When I go on blogging trips, especially for Disney, battery life on my phone and laptop is so important. While attending blogging conferences, it is funny to see bloggers all over the place, attached to wall plugs, all over the place. Power Strips and Extension cords are kind of coveted when you get a huge group of bloggers together.
My phone battery usually lasts quite a while, but for the first time ever, I battled a good battery charge while on my Disney “chimpanzee” trip, in Florida. I was on my phone constantly tweeting, blogging, facebooking, etc., about everything I got to experience. I wasn’t the only one either. After day 1, a few bloggers and myself rallied together to try and figure out how on earth we were going to make it through the rest of the week, and maintain our batteries. We even made a late night run to Walmart to find an extra battery pack/charger. We all purchased one, but it only added about an hour of extra life to my phone. Thankfully, shortly after I returned home from my trip, I found out about the GearPower Mobile Power Station with Device Adapters (GMP4400PP), by IOGEAR.
The GearPower Mobile Power Station is AWESOME, and a must for all bloggers, who need to be connected so often. The GMP4400PP makes it possible to revive deceased tablets, smartphones, cameras, and other USB powered devices through the power station’s USB 5V 1A power port. What I love about this mobile power station is that it is so slim and sleek, and lightweight. It can easily fit in my purse – even my smaller purse that I take to the movie premieres! The power station includes tips for devices from Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and Nokia; as well as Micro USB and Mini USB connections. The GMP4400PP features a built-in short-circuit and over-charge prevention, as well as temperature protection.
One thing that I have noticed draining my phone’s battery, more than anything else, Angry Birds! As much as my kids and I love the game, it does not love my battery! If I am out and about and my kids get a hold of my phone, then who knows what my battery will be like when I get it back. With the IOGEAR Mobile Power Station, I can hook my phone up to it and get a boost. You can check the portable battery’s power level with the click of a button.
Here are the compatible devices, which will work with the Mobile Power Station:
Compatible devices*:
- Smartphones
- Cell phones
- Tablets
- iPad 1 & 2
- iPhone
- iPod
- BlackBerry devices
- Digital cameras
- Most MP3 players
- Most devices which plug into a USB, or Micro-USB power source
*Some devices may get different results due to larger power capacity requirement
Something I love that IOGEAR is doing, is that they are donating $3.50 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a guaranteed minimum donation of $20,000, for every battery sold between March 2012 and August 31, 2012. The Mobile Power Station currently retails at $49.95.
IOGEAR provided me with a Mobile Power Station, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Definitely need this! I’m constantly searching for outlets at airports and competing with business men over them!
