E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on Blu-ray + Madame Tussaud’s Big Reveal
E.T. Phone Home! Oh wait – now E.T. can be phoning from your home for the first time on blu-ray! Universal Studios is celebrating their 100th anniversary and we get to reap the benefits with one of the most beloved films of all time, in a digitally remastered version!
I remember watching E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial as a little girl and falling in love with the adorable little Extra-Terrestrial and especially those who loved him most: Elliott and Gertie. It is so fun to have these childhood favorites get re-released so our children and the next generations can enjoy these same films all over again, as if they are brand new. Back then I had no idea that Steven Spielberg was the director, or really who he was, but now as an adult it makes total sense! The music is just phenomenal!!
I found my kids laughing at some of the same parts of the movie that I laughed at as a kid. I love when E.T. is hiding among all of the dolls and stuffed animals, and then again when he turns the TV on and gets freaked out by Tom and Jerry! Now watching the show as a parent, there were some swear words that I was more overly aware of, that I wish it didn’t have. Looking past those, E.T. is still an endearing film. My kids thought a couple of parts were a little weird, but most of those things likely have to do with the date of the film.
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial was released on Blu-ray on October 9th and you can purchase the Combo Pack for just $19.99 on Amazon. This comes with Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Copy + Ultraviolet.
In some other fun news; This week, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial debuted at Madame Tussaud’s in Hollywood. Now the beloved character is immortalized in WAX! I have always wanted to go to a Wax Museum and Madame Tussaud’s would be so much fun! I love the new edition!
