Boys & Girls Clubs of America Team Up With Amway To Discuss Healthy Lifestyles

Boys & Girls Clubs of America Team Up With Amway

This year, I have learned more and more about the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. It really sounds like such a fantastic program. I haven’t had any personal experiences with the BGCA, myself, but I have had friends and readers tell me some great experiences they have had with the program.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America have teamed up with Amway to help educate Club members about the importance of healthy diets and lifestyles. I think this is such a fantastic cause, because childhood obesity is running rampant in our country. I am just shocked when I look at the kids at my boys’ school, because obesity has really become an epidemic. I believe there is so much we can do to aid in these efforts.

BGCA and Amway have partnered in three different initiatives to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of America members. The point in these efforts is to achieve a healthier diet and lifestyle. The initiatives are outlined below:

  • POSITIVE SPROUTS® Sustainability Grants – Amway is providing $30,000 in Sustainability Grants to ten deserving Boys & Girls Clubs who previously received community gardens from Amway. The funds are designed to assist Clubs with the maintenance of their garden as well as improve nutrition for Club members. For more information, visit the POSITIVE SPROUTS program page. I think this initiative is my favorite. I think that so many fabulous things go along with gardens, including the value of hard work, but also the great nutrition!
  • Garden In A Box Kits – Amway is donating 150 Garden In A Box kits to Boys & Girls Clubs who demonstrated an interest and need for establishing a community gardening program at their Club. The kit includes a variety of fruit and vegetable seeds and supplies Clubs need to get started.
  • POSITIVE SPROUTS® Curriculum – Amway is enabling the delivery of a healthy food curriculum to 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide ensuring that all Clubs have access to educational materials promoting healthy eating habits.

Jump in and see what you can do to help these initiatives! There’s no better time of year to help out. Learn more about the BGCA and Amway partnership.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of BGCA and Amway. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
