Mega Bloks Skylanders Crusher’s Pirate Quest Giveaway

We all know that Skylanders Giants, the video game, is one of the hottest gifts of the season. I even spotted the Wii with Skylanders Giants Starter Kit, selling at Target! Skylanders are all my boys can talk about. Their second requested gifts for Christmas are legos and Mega Bloks Skylanders Giants bricks. If you are like me and used to think that Mega Bloks were giant bricks made for toddlers only, we were wrong. Mega Bloks carries bricks in smaller sizes, similar to legos. These are great for older kids, like my boys who are 7 and (almost) 9.

The two things my kids do most these days are play video games and build with bricks. Combining the hottest video game of the season with bricks is pure genius! For my 2012 Holiday Gift Guide feature today, I am reviewing and giving away a set of Mega Bloks Skylanders Crusher’s Pirate Quest bricks. This is valued at $49.99, and is brand new to the market. Not all stores are carrying these yet, but select ToysRUs stores and Targets should have some of the sets. I’m sure there are others as well, but that is where we have spotted them. The Skylanders Crusher’s Pirate Quest set is a 2-in-1 set, which means you can use the same bricks/pieces to build two different ships/platforms. I love when building sets provide this option, because it creates versatility and more ways to have fun. This set comes with two Skylanders characters: Crusher (a giant) and Cynder. The best part? While these Mega Bloks are not legos, they are compatible with legos. I tested it out myself! My kids love building with the Mega Bloks Skylanders set, but they did point out that the bricks are a tad more difficult to put together and take apart. Trust me though, it doesn’t stop them one bit. I think the more they use them, the more they will loosen up, and become easier.

    I am collecting toys and gifts for needy and homeless kids living in the local homeless shelter, domestic violence shelter, and transitional housing locally. I would love to win this so I could wrap it up and offer it for the holidays to a needy child. What a great gift! We buy our own family’s gifts so would not be keeping this.

    All my boys old and young would love this, we have the older Mega Blocks pirate ship and it is dissassembled all over the place. Santa is bringing each special toy a box for all it’s pieces as the basket/cubby situation is not working too well.
