The Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel by the Sea
To finish off our Christmas break, my family and I took a little trip to the ocean. It was probably the best family vacation I have taken, with just my little family of 6. Okay, some may not think that 6 people constitute a little family, but I just mean that we didn’t go with any extended family. Tucked away in the darling town of Carmel by the Sea was the cutest “pink castle” (as my daughter calls it) called the Hofsas House Hotel.
The Hofsas House is a boutique family-owned inn with 38 rooms. The hotel has been a family tradition for over 60 years, and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to meet many of the family members who currently run the inn. The staff was exceptional, who all greeted me with smiles and hospitality whenever we crossed paths. Many of the rooms overlook the ocean, and each room has it’s own style and decor.
My family had one of the largest rooms the Hofsas House have to offer. Upon arriving to our room, my kids were concerned because there appeared to be only one bed. Granted it was a large room with a warming fireplace, television and mini kitchen, but it wasn’t going to sleep us all.
The kids were relieved to find that there was a long hallway with a bathroom off the side, and another bedroom at the end. This bedroom was PERFECT for the kids. With two beds and their own tv, and bathroom, the kids felt right at home. My boys shouted, “This is the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in!”
Because my husband and I are not wine drinkers, we were welcomed with Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider and some delicious cheeses and crackers. I have to say the the cheese was some of the best I have had. I believe it was from a local shop too!
The Hofsas House offers a variety of packages to make your stay more fun, and more comfortable. We opted for the Beach Fire and S’mores Package. Sitting next to our fireplace was a nice kit containing firewood and skewers, a blanket, and everything to make s’mores on the beach.
Each room at the Hofsas House Hotel has dutch doors so you can enjoy the view of the sunset and ocean, from the comfort of your own room. I loved all of the windows and blinds which allowed for a lot of light to come into the room. Everything from the quilts to the seprate bedrooms made our stay so homey and comfortable.
One morning during our stay, we were taken on a tour of the variety of rooms the Hofsas House has to offer. I loved this room in particular because it too was spacious and while it didn’t have a second bedroom, it did have a kitchen. You can do some of your own cooking and dining right in your room.
The hotel also comes with a heated pool, year round, and a lovely conference room. I think the conference room, which also has a kitchen, would be perfect for any family reunion gathering!
The Hofsas House Hotel had warm and friendly charm.
Each morning we went down to the lobby where we had some of the most delicious and fresh pastries I have had.
Within just a couple of minutes of driving from the Hofsas House Hotel, we came upon these fantastic views of the ocean. I was in love!
Everyone enjoyed our first beach fire and s’mores. I had never done a fire on the beach before, but it was so much fun. Thankfully the hotel provided us with flashlights because the beach was pitch black!
When morning came and it was time to decide what to do for the day, the staff was so helpful in giving us some suggestions of things to do with the kids. They also arranged restaurant reservations so we didn’t have to worry about a single meal. This helped to make the entire trip perfect! We had a fantastic time in Carmel and I cannot wait until I can visit the Hofsas House Hotel again!
I was provided with accommodations at the Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel by the Sea, to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are my own.
