Yesterday was the start of something exciting; the #iheartOmron Fitness Challenge. While the challenge officially began yesterday by emailing a photo of my feet on the scale (with my current weight), for me it actually started when I found out that I was chosen to be a contestant. It has only been a little over a week since I learned that I would be competing with/against 24 other bloggers, to see who could get the most fit in 30 days. While this is a fitness “challenge”, I have connected with each of these women on facebook already and we are giving one another encouragement. After all, the ultimate goal for each of us is to become healthier and happier.
Before I learned that I was a contestant, I had already made the decision to join Weight Watchers and get my rear in gear. I was a little nervous about starting my weight loss a week early, because the first week on a diet I usually see the highest numbers of weight loss. However, I learned that the official starting weight for each of us was our application weight. Unfortunately for me, the application was early December (if I recall correctly), and I gained 8 pounds since I applied! So sickening, but I’m not going to let that stop me from trying my hardest. Since learning this, I am oh so grateful that I started Weight Watchers a week before the challenge “began”.
Luckily the manager of the challenge allowed me to change my start weight to my current weight (as of mid-week last week). I am happy to report that I am already 2.4 lbs down and it has only been 2 days! To make me even happier, when I weighed in at Weight Watchers on Saturday, I had lost 3.8 lbs since my weigh-in the week before!! I’d say I’m off to a decent start.
Bob Green even gave us bloggers some words of encourage, to help us on our journey! You can watch the clip below:
Per the requirements for the Omron Fitness challenge, I am kicking up my exercise starting TODAY! I woke up bright and early so I could get a workout in before taking the kids to their first day of school, after the break. Today’s workout was for the upper body, and boy did it feel good to give my arms a workout. I plan to do a little Kinect Dancing with the kids when they get home from school, and the treadmill tonight after kids go to bed. I am going to rock this challenge, to be my best self! Besides, I have a photo and video shoot with Reynolds next week, and I need to get down as much as I can before then. I even did a little clothes shopping today – so fun!
I can’t wait to update you on my progress next week, so stay tuned!
This post is sponsored Omron Fitness as a collaboration with Bookieboo Blogging Network and Mamavation – a community dedicated to weight loss for women and obesity prevention for families. I was provided with product and compensation for my time and honest opinions.

Congrats on the loss so far! Weight Watchers is how I lost 50 lbs 2 years ago and kept it off. I loved it! It taught me great habits I use to this day.
