If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you already know Family Movie Nights are extremely popular in my household. It doesn’t really matter what time of year, but I’d say we do a lot more of them in the winter. If the weather is chilly and/or rainy, then you can likely find us curled up on the couch (yes – all six of us), with some yummies, and a good movie. I don’t know which is my kids’ most favorite part of Family Movie Night – the movie, the cuddling or the treats? I’m always looking for ways to enhance our run of the mill treats, so Family Movie Night inspired my creation of Red Velvet Popcorn and Hot TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk. These two go hand-in-hand, and make any cold winter day beautiful.
When the kids see TruMoo in the fridge, they know something special is about to be created. They love it just as it is, but I know they are hopeful for something extraordinary. For the month of February, TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk is back in-stores, so of course we had to incorporate it into movie night.
Without much fuss, I found that heating up the TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk turns a cup of hot cocoa into something extraordinary. Top it with miniature marshmallows and YUM! I don’t know why I waited until not to heat up my TruMoo – it’s fantastic!
Then I paired it with my Red Velvet Popcorn creation and the kids were E.X.C.I.T.E.D. Looking back on our evening, I doubt they recall what movie we watched, but they do remember the warm cup of TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow Milk and the Red Velvet Popcorn.
I’m also hoping that another evening of cuddling on the couch, as a family, will add to the jar of shared family unity so when rough times come, and they will, those moments of family unity will see us through. Isn’t that what it’s all about – sharing many moments of closeness and commaraderie that will sustain us. I’m banking on it! I like to think of it as the family closeness bank account. Keep on making those deposits, so when there are withdrawals, we won’t have insufficient funds, but a hefty account to rely on. Family Movie Night with cuddles and treats add up to some of my best deposits.
Quality (and as much quantity as you can manage) is what it’s all about. TruMoo knows about quality, as well. TruMoo is the nation’s leading ready-to-serve chocolate milk brand and the seasonal TruMoo Chocolate Marshmallow contains no artificial growth hormones or high fructose corn syrup, and is made with wholesome low-fat white milk from your trusted local dairy. You’ll want to be sure to get some while it’s still on the shelves and enjoy it cold, or even better, try it hot.
I’d love to hear what some of your favorite Movie Night Treats are and please, give some of my favorite treats a try. They won’t disappoint!
Don’t leave without printing my Red Velvet Popcorn recipe! You may also like my Hot Chocolate Popcorn, which would also pair nicely with the hot TruMoo!
