This weekend is a big weekend for our friends and sponsors, The Boxtrolls. It’s the LA premier weekend for their brand new, highly anticipated (including by my own kids) movie, followed by the nationwide theatre release date September 26th! To celebrate they are hosting some amazing nationwide events for kids, as well as hosting an amazing contest and a way for your kids to join in on the fun, at home!
Imagination Foundation Events:
The Boxtrolls have partnered with the Imagination Foundation to bring children together nationwide for some special events. The Imagination Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to find, foster and fund creativity and entrepreneurship in children around the world. Together The Boxtrolls and The Imagination Foundation are hoping to inspire children to use their ingenuity at the upcoming events to make fabulous creations out of cardboard and other recycled materials… Just like The Boxtrolls would themselves. While children are there, they can also enter to win “What’s in The Box” Themed Packages. It sounds like an amazing weekend activity to take the kiddos to!

Join In At Home:
If you don’t live near one of these awesome events, there is still a way for you and your child to join in from home. The Boxtrolls and the Imagination Foundation is hosting an online Cardboard Challenge.
To enter, encourage your child to use cardboard and other recycled household items to make their own creation. Then simply snap a photo of the creation and post it to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #TheBoxtrollsCC to enter it into the contest. The deadline to enter is September 29th. After that, 1 Grand Prize Winner will receive an “Imagination Box” for creative play, including an Apple iMac, an iPad Air, Microsoft Office, The Print Shop and Kid Pix softwares, a $500 DiscoveryStore.com gift card, and a $1000 Michaels Arts & Crafts gift card.
