Red, White And Blue Brownie Trifle (Patriotic Trifle)

by Emily Buys 3 Comments

Red, White and Blue Brownie Trifle aka Patriotic Trifle

Serve this beautiful Red, White and Blue Brownie Trifle for 4th of July Parties or Memorial Day Barbeques. This Patriotic Trifle is a beautiful addition to any bbq, and I allow myself to feel better about eating it because of the fresh fruit! I ignore the brownies and whipped cream when thinking of calories. 😉  The steps are pretty simple, so I will just explain them here. In a glass dish (so you can see the pretty layers), you will layer the following items:

First layer is sliced strawberries. Don’t slice them too thin. You can use my easy tip for hulling strawberries here.

Second layer is whipped cream. In a large bowl, whip 1 cup of whipping cream until stiff peaks are barely forming. Beat in 1 tsp vanilla and 1 Tbs powdered sugar, until peaks form. Don’t overbeat.

The third layer is fresh blueberries. We also put another thin layer of whipped cream before placing the 4th layer, which is brownies. Bake brownies per instructions on package, and cut into 1″ pieces. Then place on top of blueberries, or whipped cream. Repeat layers with strawberries, whipped cream and blueberries. For the last layer of blueberries, I didn’t cover the whole top, but made a smaller circle on top. Then topped it with more whipped cream and red, white and blue star marshmallows that I had on hand.
