Buy, Sell and Trade in the Ubokia Marketplace + BlogHer ’12 Sponsor

As many of you know, I am heading to NYC tomorrow night, for a very exciting and busy weekend. I am heading to BlogHer ’12, where I will connect with many brands and bloggers, to help better my blogging skills, as well as network. I went to BlogHer ’11, in San Diego last year, and I had an absolute blast. I would like to announce my BlogHer ’12 sponsor, who is helping to make this trip possible for me – Ubokia.

Ubokia is a cool new marketplace, which is similar to craigslist, but nearly the opposite. If you are familiar with craigslist, then you are aware that most people go there to post items for sale, and to browse the items for sell. Ubokia works in a little bit of a different way. I now have a Ubokia Marketplace installed on my page, where you can check it out and start browsing WANTS.  If you are looking for something in particular, then this is the place to list and make your want known. You can simply post what you want, or browse seller items. If and when you find what you are looking for, you can then obtain that item, on your own terms.

Let me give you an example. Let’s say I want a Harry Potter movie. I type that into the search box, select how far I am willing to travel from my city, select a category (Movies & DVDs), and then I can sort how I want the list displayed.

Now let’s say you want to sell something. You can simply list your item for sale, or even better – browse the WANTS. You type in the item you are selling, in the search bar, to see if anyone happens to be wanting that item. It is selling in the reverse. Rather than have to wait for people to hunt you down, to purchase your items, you can hunt them down!

Another feature that I find very cool is the uGroups. You can create your own group and invite whomever you want. You can have a group of family members, friends, or even parents from your kids’ school. uGroups gives you the ability to buy, sell, and trade within your uGroup. Give the group a name, and start telling other people nearby, about it.

Feel free to visit my page whenever, and click on the Marketplace Tab, in the Navigation Bar, and do your own selling or wanting!

Ubokia provided me with a BlogHer Sponsorship, to help spread the word about the Marketplace, in addition to hosting it on my site. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
