This past month my husband and I traveled to Southern California to celebrate our upcoming 10th anniversary. Since this is a big one, we decided to have an actual getaway from the kids, for more than one night. That concept alone was enough to make us giddy, but then we pulled up to our hotel…..The Langham Huntington, Pasadena! Driving up to the front of the hotel was like a dream, as this place nearly looks and feels like a castle! It was just barely dark and the trees and path were lit with Christmas lights; just making our jaws drop as we pulled up.
I recently discovered that Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 was filmed at The Langham, and the hotel really is as beautiful as portrayed in the movie – and then some! The hotel is decorated with gorgeous lighting and chandeliers, and has some amazing gardens. Our stay was short, so we didn’t have a lot of time to wander around the gardens, but we had some amazing views from our room.
Our entire stay was just phenomenal. We were greeted in our room by a plate of gourmet chocolates, sparkling lemonade, and orchids, including a chocolate sign wishing us a Happy Anniversary. We ate that too!
The king bed in our room was very comfortable, as were the pillows. I was especially fond of hanging out and working from the chaise lounge! The marble granite countertops and tile floors in the bathroom were just beautiful. Our room was complete with fluffy bath robes and slippers, as well as a box full of toiletry items one might have forgotten at home. The box included toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving supplies and much more! We took advantage of the free pressing (up to 3 items), since we had some wrinkly laundry when we arrived.
One of my favorite things about staying at The Langham was all of the spectacular food! We were upgraded to the Club Level, and if you ever have the opportunity to do so, I highly recommend it. Nearly any time of day, we could go down to this suite (the club), where there was always something being served. In the morning they had a “continental breakfast”. I think they use this term loosely because this was the fanciest, tastiest, continental breakfast I have ever encountered. I particularly enjoyed the Cheese Blintzes and Croissants! YUM! They have snacks around lunchtime, but you could most definitely make a meal of it, with egg salad, deli meats and rolls. In the afternoon, you can go down for afternoon tea. Then in the evening there are appetizers, which really served as our dinner. After 8pm we went down again for Cordials – some of the tastiest petite desserts! We were fed very well! You can also head to the Club Lounge any time of day for cookies and ice cream.
Some things we didn’t have time to take advantage of were the spa and fitness facilities. These look and sound amazing! In the spa you can schedule massages, facials, pedicures, etc. There is even a sauna that all guests can enjoy. The fitness center has quite a few pieces of exercise equipment to choose from such as treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, dumbbells, and more! While visiting with one of the other guests in the Club Lounge, I learned that you can even take part in a free yoga class, and sometimes body sculpting or aerobics classes. That would have been so nice!
The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is THE place to stay when visiting Pasadena, or surrounding cities. The staff was more than polite, and it was the most luxurious stay I have ever encountered at a hotel. You really get the finest of everything when staying at The Langham.
We enjoyed visiting with other members in the Club Lounge, who make The Langham their go-to place when they are visiting the area.
The Langham gets 5 stars from me!
Be sure to check The Langham out on facebook and twitter.
I was provided with accommodations at The Langham, to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are my own.
