Hotel Transylvania Party
My kids and I have really been looking forward to the release of Hotel Transylvania. We actually have tickets to see the movie a bit later today. There are so many big names in the movie, and it just looks super funny! In honor of the recent Hotel Transylvania movie release, I held a spooky party for the kids and some of their neighborhood friends.
To plan and shop for the party, I shopped at Smart & Final. Now through October 2nd, when you shop at Smart & Final and purchase two First Street Bakery Items, you will get a movie certificate for one free movie, up to $13. There will be a code printed on your Smart & Final receipt. Simply log onto the website listed on the receipt, fill out the required information, including code, and your movie ticket will be emailed within 3 business days.
I perused the bakery section of the store, and found some treats that I thought I could turn into some spooky favors. Red Velvet makes the perfect treat for a vampire right? I went with the Red Velvet Bundt Cake and some Raspberry Walnut Rugala. I had some plastic white vampire teeth that I placed into the cake, for the full effect. While shopping at Smart & Final, I got some great deals on Fruit Punch and Pineapple Fanta, which I thought would made the perfect concoction. I was right – it was delicious!
To balance out the sweets, I found some great deals on tortilla chips and nacho cheese. We had nachos, cake, rugala and punch. To get us in the mood for Hotel Transylvania, I brought out the Halloween decorations. We are almost to October after all. The kids were so excited to come home from school with the house decked out for Halloween. Then to surprise them with the Hotel Transylvania party, they were over the moon. Hubby placed some of our black garland outside, we shopped for pumpkins, and had a movie night. You can see more photos from my shopping and party, in my Google+ Album.

I saw that red velvet cake in the store and after seeing it here, I wish I had bought it at my Smart & Final 🙂
