I have officially ended week 2 in the #iheartOmron Fitness Challenge, and it’s the start of week 3. I gotta say that I am quite pleased with my results so far! I do wish I had begun my weight loss journey earlier, but it is what it is. I think the most disappointing thing for me is that the last 10 pounds gained just happened so fast that until those are gone, and then I see progress from there, I feel somewhat unsuccessful. This is a lie that I tell myself, that I just have to get over.
I am pleased to say that I am down 7.6 lbs since the beginning of my journey. I started Weight Watchers just before beginning the #iheartOmron Fitness Challenge, and I am glad I did. It gave me a bit of a boost, and has helped me get that much closer to my healthy weight and size. I had a 2.6 pound loss for this past week, which isn’t too shabby considering I have been at this for 3 weeks now. After all, I am not on the Biggest Loser, and getting to work out all day long! For a busy momma and was gone to Chicago for half the week, I’m impressed with myself. Don’t mind me while I toot my own horn for a bit.
Okay, so now for the even more exciting stuff. I decided to take measurements this morning, to see how I’m faring size-wise. I forgot to take measurements right at the start of my journey, so these differences account for about 2 weeks time. I am down 1 inch in each thigh, 2 inches in my hips, 1.5 inches in my waist and .5 inches in each arm. That gives me a total of 6.5 inches down in size!
Something I have noticed is that when I am using weights and working on muscle building, in addition to cardio and diet changes, I don’t get as small in size. While I enjoy seeing smaller numbers on the scale, I have to go by the way I look. When working out how I am now, I can be about 15 pounds heavier than my lowest, and look about the same in size. However, I will have more muscle and be more fit. I just need to be content with this, and I’m getting there. I want to be pleased with the way I look and feel – those are the most important things to me.
While using my Omron Fitness scale yesterday, I discovered that my BMI has come down some, as well as my fat%. My muscle% has increased as well. Very pleased considering some of these results are just from 2 weeks of work. Others are after 3 weeks. Not to shabby for a busy housewife. Now wish me luck because I am going to Florida later this week, for 5 days! I’m sure I will be fed well too!!

Excellent point that the number on the scale isn’t as important as the overall look in the mirror. Muscle is a very good thing! 🙂 Way to go, Emily!
